Ratings and Reviews
Ratings and reviews are everything when buying online

Why?
Ratings and reviews are everything when buying online whether is B2C or B2B. In 2023, every single buyer will assess ratings and reviews before a transaction. Airbnb, Amazon, Uber ... all base their business on ratings and reviews.
If you don't have ratings and reviews, you can still generate sales. However, the first thing a buyer will notice are the reviews for your listing (or the absence of reviews). The fastest way to generate a collection of genuine positive reviews is by running an event. Don't try to "game" reviews - you need objective, thoughtful responses from people you trust, not automatically generated nonsense.
Ratings
- Ratings are driven directly inside the booking system of Elevate
- We currently have a thumbs up or down ratings system, and we will progress in future versions to a 5* ratings system commonly used in Airbnb and other platforms. All your current reviews will automatically transfer to 5* ratings
- Ratings are reciprocal - both buyers and sellers generate reviews. You can generate ratings for yourself by attending other people's events for example.
Reviews
- The most important thing to note about reviews is that they are presenting use cases for the buyer.
- Really good reviews say "why" the purchaser bought, and/or what specifically they used the information for, and why it was useful.
- Try and encourage buyers to give you a thoughtful review, it will pay dividends
- Statistics show that almost everyone (90%+) check the most recent reviews before buying
- Check out the example below for some great reviews.
Best Practice
- For events that have taken place in the past, (in or our of Elevate) you can ask your previous buyer or audience to write a testimonial, a short paragraph, in your OPEN DISCUSSION which you'll find at the bottom of every listing. Just provide them with your listing details and ask for a thoughtful comment
- For new paid events, ensure you your buyers follow the automatic rating and review process, that happens embedded within the payment gateway. You're ratings and reviews will appear on your profile automatically
- For ticketed events, our experience is that the goodwill is on your side, and the attendee or organiser will always contribute a review, even in your open discussion or through the payment gateway for a nominally charged event
